Saturday 28th September
Newcastle v Manchester City
1 - 1
Newcastle United pulled off a shocking 1-1 draw against Manchester City, coming back from behind to snatch a point. Josko Gvardiol put City ahead, but Anthony Gordon’s penalty leveled the score. Newcastle’s defense stood strong, frustrating City’s attack. The draw is a big blow for City, who were hoping to extend their lead at the top. Newcastle, on the other hand, will be buzzing after this result. Gordon’s goal was a moment of brilliance, showcasing his talent. This was a thrilling match that showed both teams at their best.
Arsenal v Leicester
4 - 2
Arsenal’s late goals secured a dramatic 4-2 win over Leicester City. Despite Leicester’s strong start and impressive fightback, Arsenal’s determination and quality shone through in the end. The victory moves Arsenal level on points with Manchester City, while Leicester remain in the bottom half of the table. This was a thrilling match that had everything. Leicester’s James Justin scored two stunning goals to put them in control, but Arsenal’s resilience and attacking prowess ultimately proved too much. The Gunners’ late goals were a testament to their never-say-die attitude and their ability to turn things around.
Brentford v West Ham
1 - 1
Brentford and West Ham put on a show in their London derby clash. It was a fast-paced game with plenty of chances and end-to-end action. Bryan Mbeumo gave Brentford a dream start with a quick goal, but West Ham fought back and leveled the score through Tomas Soucek. Both teams had chances to win it late on, but the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Whilst West Ham are probably celebrating their no-losses-at-home streak, Brentford will, of course, be disappointed not to have won. However, they can take solace in their performance and the fact that they were able to match West Ham, a tough opponent.Â
Chelsea v Brighton
4 - 2
Cole Palmer stole the show at Stamford Bridge, scoring an incredible four goals in the first half to lead Chelsea to a 4-2 win over Brighton. It was a historic performance that left everyone in awe. Brighton started strong, but Palmer’s goals turned the game on its head. His clinical finishing and composure were on full display. Chelsea’s other goal came from Carlos Baleba, who took advantage of a defensive error. Brighton fought back with goals of their own, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Chelsea’s dominance. The Blues are now in fourth place in the Premier League, while Brighton drop to eighth.
Everton v Crystal Palace
2 - 1
Everton staged a fantastic comeback to beat Crystal Palace 2-1. Marc Guehi gave Palace an early lead, but Dwight McNeil’s goals in the second half turned the game around. McNeil’s goals were absolute stunners, showcasing his talent and skill. The win is a big boost for Everton, who are now out of the relegation zone. Palace, on the other hand, will be disappointed to lose after taking an early lead.
Nottingham Forest v Fulham
0 - 1
Fulham continued their impressive start to the season with a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest. Raul Jimenez’s goal was the difference-maker in a closely contested match. Both teams fought hard, but Fulham’s defensive resilience and Jimenez’s clinical finishing proved to be the key factors. The victory moves Fulham up to sixth in the Premier League table, while Forest drop to ninth.
Wolves v Liverpool
1 - 2
Liverpool climbed to the top of the Premier League table with a 2-1 victory over Wolves at Molineux. Mohamed Salah’s penalty proved to be the decisive goal after Ibrahima Konate’s header gave Liverpool the lead. Wolves briefly equalized through Rayan Ait-Nouri, but Liverpool regained control and held on for the win. The victory took Liverpool one point clear of Manchester City and Arsenal.Â
Sunday 29th September
Ipswich v Aston Villa
2 - 2
Liam Delap was the hero for Ipswich Town, scoring twice to salvage a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa. Villa looked to be cruising to victory after goals from Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins, but Delap’s clinical finishes kept Ipswich in the game. The draw was a major boost for Ipswich, who are now out of the relegation zone. Villa, on the other hand, will be disappointed to have let a comfortable lead slip away. Delap’s performance was outstanding, and he is quickly becoming a key player for Ipswich.
Manchester United v Spurs
0 - 3
Tottenham Hotspur ran riot at Old Trafford, handing Manchester United a humiliating 3-0 defeat. Micky van de Ven’s brilliant run set up Brennan Johnson for the early opener, and Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke added goals in the second half. Bruno Fernandes’ red card made United’s task impossible. The victory lifts Tottenham to eighth, while United remains in 12th, facing increasing pressure on manager Erik ten Hag. This defeat is a major setback for United, who were already struggling to find their form. Ten Hag is under immense pressure to turn things around, and this defeat will only increase the scrutiny on his management.
Monday 30th September
Bournemouth v Southampton
3 - 1
AFC Bournemouth achieved a resounding 3-1 victory over their rivals Southampton, thanks to goals from Evanilson, Dango Ouattara, and Antoine Semenyo. Evanilson scored his first goal for Bournemouth, while Ouattara and Semenyo showcased impressive individual performances. Southampton managed to score a consolation goal through Taylor Harwood-Bellis but couldn’t manage to recover from their first-half struggles. This win lifts Bournemouth to 11th in the Premier League standings, while Southampton remains in the relegation zone at 19th.
